About The Prison Advocate

The Prison Advocate is an advocacy group committing to exposing injustice, inhumanity and abuse within the prison system. We are committing to exposing and challenging the degredation that occurs behind prison walls and we work tirelessly for better conditions for those that are incarcerated.

The Prison Advocate was founded by former Manhattan Madam, Kristin Davis, who spent 4-months in solitary confinement in Rikers Island and who also spent a year in a medium security Federal Correctional Institute.  Davis, best known by her moniker Manhattan Madam, was arrested in 2008 in the wake of a series of arrests associated with former New York State Governor, Eliot Spitzer. Davis spent 4 months in solitary confinement in Rikers Island and came out to run as a protest candidate for Governor of New York in 2010. While running for NYC Comptroller in 2013, Davis was arrested and convicted of distributing prescription pills and given a 24-month prison sentence. Davis self-surrendered to prison and entered a medium security Federal Correctional Institute to attend the RDAP program and reduced her prison term to 12 months.

Davis’s prison experience outraged her to fight and advocate for those behind prison walls. “No one will fight harder for humane conditions for those incarcerated than someone who has been in prison and experienced it” said Davis. Davis, and her group of advocates, are asking those who are currently incarcerated to contact her if they are being abused or mistreated. We will fight for you! All cases are confidential.

The Prison Advocate is also a full service prison consulting firm designed to help those facing prison time navigate the judicial and correctional system. We are experts in Pre and Post Sentencing matters and can help you reduce your prison term through alternative sentencing or other programs.
